AI Clerics Terms of Service
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AI Clerics website, application, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Privacy Policy explains how AI Clerics handles personal information. The Cookie and Local Storage Notice explains necessary browser and device storage.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live and applicable law requires permission from a parent or legal guardian, you may use the Service only with that permission.
Some content, features, settings, devices, regions, or distribution channels may be subject to additional eligibility, safety, availability, or legal requirements. By using them, you confirm that your use is permitted where you live. You must not bypass access or safety controls, help another person do so, or use the Service where applicable law prohibits it. You also may not use the Service if AI Clerics previously terminated your account for a serious violation and has not authorized your return.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Accounts and security
Provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials, devices, and recovery methods, and for activity performed through your account unless caused by AI Clerics’ failure to use reasonable safeguards.
Do not share, sell, transfer, or allow another person to use your account. Notify security@aiclerics.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or another security problem.
3. The Service and beta features
AI Clerics is an AI-powered roleplaying, interactive storytelling, and creation platform. It may allow you to play Adventures; create Scenarios, Characters, and related content; save private creations; publish selected creations; discover public content; communicate with users; and use creator and community features.
AI Clerics or particular features may be identified as beta. Beta features may change, be interrupted, contain errors, or be discontinued. Do not use the Service as the only copy of information you cannot afford to lose.
AI Clerics may change, add, limit, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, service quality, or product operation. Where practicable, AI Clerics will provide reasonable notice of a material change that significantly affects ordinary use.
4. Player control and AI storytelling
The following is a core product rule:
- The player decides what their own character says, thinks, feels, chooses, consents to, and does.
- The AI controls the fictional world and non-player characters.
- The AI must not invent the player’s choices, consent, dialogue, thoughts, feelings, or actions.
AI systems can still make mistakes. If an AI response violates this rule, the generated text does not become your actual choice or consent and does not bind your character. You may edit, retry, disregard, or report the response.
AI output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, repetitive, unexpected, or offensive. It may misstate facts or produce content you did not request. Review output before relying on it, sharing it, or publishing it.
AI output is not medical, legal, financial, safety, or other professional advice. Do not use AI Clerics for decisions where an incorrect response could foreseeably cause serious harm.
5. Your content and ownership
“User Content” means content you submit, create, upload, save, send, or publish through the Service, including prompts, Adventure content, Scenarios, Characters, artwork, comments, feedback, reports, and messages.
You retain the rights you already hold in your original User Content. AI Clerics does not take ownership of private creations.
As between you and AI Clerics, AI Clerics does not claim ownership of AI output generated for you, except for pre-existing AI Clerics materials that may appear in it. Whether AI-generated output qualifies for copyright or other protection depends on applicable law. Outputs may be similar or identical to outputs provided to other users, and AI Clerics does not guarantee exclusivity, originality, or freedom from third-party rights.
You remain responsible for reviewing User Content and AI output before publishing it and for having any permission or other lawful basis needed to use third-party material.
AI Clerics owns or licenses the Service itself, including its software, branding, visual design, documentation, private instructions, and original platform materials. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
6. Limited licenses
A. License from AI Clerics to you
Subject to these Terms, AI Clerics grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purposes.
B. License from you to AI Clerics
You grant AI Clerics a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, encrypt, process, transmit, protect, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide features you request;
- save and synchronize your content;
- generate requested AI responses;
- deliver communications;
- display content according to your visibility choices;
- maintain security and service integrity;
- comply with law; and
- enforce these Terms.
For Private Adventures, this includes temporarily decrypting only the context needed when you request an AI action, as described in the Privacy Policy. This license does not give AI Clerics permission or the technical ability to decrypt end-to-end encrypted direct messages.
For private content, this license does not permit advertising, marketing, model training, unspecified research, or unrelated commercial use. For public content, the license permits display, distribution, and sharing through the Service according to your publication settings. AI Clerics will not use public content in advertising outside the Service without the creator’s permission.
This license lasts only while reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including normal backup deletion cycles and limited legal or security retention. It ends for deleted content except to the extent a copy remains lawfully retained, was separately created under Section 8, or must be retained under applicable law.
Suggestions you voluntarily provide about the Service may be used to evaluate and improve AI Clerics without payment or obligation to implement them. This does not permit AI Clerics to use your private Adventure or message content as general product feedback unless you deliberately include that content in the feedback.
7. Visibility and publication
Content is private unless you choose another visibility setting or a feature clearly requires sharing.
- Private: available only through the account or participants for whom it was created.
- Unlisted: designed not to appear in general discovery, but accessible to people who possess its link. Unlisted content is not confidential.
- Public: available to other users and potentially to the wider internet.
When you publish content, it may be viewed, shared, discussed, indexed by search engines, and copied where you allow creator-authorized copying. You are responsible for reviewing both the content and visibility setting before publication.
Unpublishing or deleting stops normal future display through AI Clerics, but cannot guarantee deletion of screenshots, external copies, search caches, recipient-held copies, or separate copies lawfully created by other users.
8. Creator-authorized copies
A creator may allow or prohibit other users from copying a publication.
When you enable copying, you grant a user who creates a permitted copy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and publish the copied source within AI Clerics, subject to these Terms and continued attribution to the source. You grant only rights you actually hold.
A permitted copy:
- becomes a separate creation controlled by the copying user;
- does not modify the original;
- must retain source attribution;
- gives the copying user rights only in their own original additions, not ownership of the source material or any third-party intellectual property; and
- may remain after the original is removed or copying is later disabled.
Permission already granted to an existing copy is not automatically revoked when the original creator changes the copy setting or removes the original. AI Clerics may still remove a copy when required by law, a valid rights complaint, safety rules, or these Terms.
9. Community features
Treat other users with respect. Public posts, comments, profiles, ratings, and other community contributions may be visible to others. Do not manipulate ratings or engagement, coordinate harassment, spam users, or misuse reporting and blocking tools.
Blocking limits future communication and profile interaction through the Service but may not remove content another user already received or copied. AI Clerics may limit features where needed to prevent abuse.
10. Mature fictional content, ratings, and safety controls
AI Clerics may contain fictional themes intended for different audiences, including strong language, horror, violence, dark subject matter, and consensual adult sexual content. Content ratings and two separate safety controls help users manage what they see and what the AI may generate.
A. Mature-content visibility and gameplay safety
The mature-content visibility setting controls whether mature publications appear in discovery, search, recommendations, and similar browsing surfaces. Mature content is hidden by default.
The separate gameplay safety setting controls what the AI is permitted to generate in an Adventure:
- Safe prevents the AI from generating mature content.
- Mature permits broader lawful fictional themes within these Terms where that setting is available.
These settings operate independently. Changing what appears in discovery does not change the gameplay safety setting, and changing the gameplay safety setting does not make mature publications visible. Neither setting overrides content ratings, publication rules, safety controls, applicable law, or the prohibited-content rules below.
B. Private mature content
Lawful fictional content involving consenting adults, strong language, violence, horror, or other mature themes is generally permitted in Private Adventures when the appropriate gameplay setting is selected, subject to the prohibited-content rules below and any other safety limits applied by the Service.
C. Published and unlisted mature content
Published or unlisted mature content must be accurately labeled. Sexually explicit text may be published only where AI Clerics permits it, must involve clearly consenting adults, must carry the highest applicable content rating, and may be visible only to users who have enabled mature-content access where available.
Adult content may be excluded from previews, recommendations, search results, particular versions of the Service, devices, regions, or distribution channels. AI Clerics may require adult-content access to be enabled through a separate setting or through the website.
Public-facing thumbnails, cover images, avatars, usernames, profile biographies, and comments must not contain pornographic imagery, visible sexual activity, exposed genitals, explicit sexual solicitation, or extreme gore intended primarily to shock. Mature themes may be described without placing explicit material on surfaces that users encounter before choosing to view mature content.
Even when accurately labeled and placed behind mature-content controls, content may not be published or shared as unlisted if it eroticizes incest, sexual activity involving animals, or sexual activity involving corpses.
D. Content prohibited throughout the Service
You must not create, request, upload, send, or publish content that involves:
- sexual content involving a real, fictional, depicted, or apparent person under 18;
- attempts to evade that rule through an “aged-up” label where the character is still presented as a minor;
- non-consensual sexual content, sexual violence, coercion, trafficking, sexual exploitation, or sexual activity involving a person unable to provide meaningful consent;
- explicit sexual content depicting an identifiable real person without that person’s consent, including non-consensual intimate imagery or manipulated sexual depictions;
- instructions, solicitation, or facilitation of real-world sexual abuse or exploitation; or
- any sexual content or conduct prohibited by applicable law.
These restrictions do not prohibit responsible, non-erotic discussion or depiction of abuse, trauma, crime, recovery, or other difficult subjects where the content does not promote, eroticize, or facilitate the prohibited conduct.
An isolated, unwanted AI response does not by itself establish that a user violated these Terms. AI Clerics may consider the user’s instructions, repeated conduct, publication choices, reports, and surrounding context.
11. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law or facilitate real-world illegal activity;
- commit fraud, scams, or deceptive commercial activity;
- threaten, harass, stalk, exploit, bully, or encourage harm toward another person;
- promote hatred or violence against people based on protected characteristics;
- impersonate another person or falsely claim affiliation, endorsement, or authority;
- disclose, collect, or misuse another person’s private information without a lawful basis;
- exploit, endanger, groom, or sexualize minors;
- create or distribute non-consensual intimate content;
- distribute malware or conduct phishing, credential theft, denial-of-service activity, or other security attacks;
- probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with access, safety, rate, moderation, or security controls;
- access another account or restricted area without authorization;
- use unauthorized automation, scraping, crawling, bulk extraction, or model-extraction methods;
- reverse engineer protected portions of the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- spam, manipulate engagement, or submit knowingly false or abusive reports;
- interfere with the Service, its users, or their devices; or
- help another person do any of the above.
Fictional depictions of crime, conflict, or mature themes are not automatically prohibited. The rule is whether the content or use violates these Terms, targets or exploits real people, facilitates real-world harm, or is unlawful.
12. Reports, moderation, and enforcement
AI Clerics may use automated and authorized human review for public or unlisted content, public community activity, and content deliberately included in a participant-submitted report. AI Clerics personnel do not browse stored Private Adventures. Direct-message contents remain end-to-end encrypted unless a participant deliberately submits specific content in a report.
Depending on the context and seriousness of a violation, AI Clerics may:
- warn the user;
- change or lock a content rating;
- reduce visibility or discovery;
- remove an image, comment, publication, or reported item;
- restrict messaging, publishing, or other features;
- temporarily suspend an account; or
- terminate an account.
Urgent action may occur without advance notice where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or legal rights. AI Clerics may consider severity, intent, repetition, risk, and prior enforcement history. AI Clerics is not required to pre-screen every item or guarantee that all objectionable content will be removed immediately.
Where appropriate, you may ask support@aiclerics.com to review an enforcement decision. You must not evade a restriction by creating or using another account.
13. Intellectual property and fan-created content
You may upload or publish third-party material only when you have permission or another lawful basis, such as an applicable exception or limitation. AI Clerics does not grant you rights in third-party franchises, characters, brands, artwork, music, writing, likenesses, or other protected material.
Fan fiction, parody, commentary, and transformative works can raise fact-specific legal questions. The presence of fan-created content on AI Clerics does not mean AI Clerics or the relevant rights holder has approved it, and AI Clerics does not guarantee that a particular use is lawful. AI Clerics does not promise to pre-screen every Scenario or Character for intellectual-property issues. However, AI Clerics may remove or restrict content after a sufficiently supported complaint, valid legal request, or other evidence of infringement.
To report alleged infringement, email support@aiclerics.com with the subject “Intellectual Property Complaint” and include:
- identification of the copyrighted work, trademark, or other right;
- identification and location of the allegedly infringing material;
- your contact information;
- a good-faith statement explaining why the use is unauthorized;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for the rights holder; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
AI Clerics may request additional information, forward the complaint to the affected user, remove or disable access to the material, or decline an incomplete or unsupported complaint. A user who believes content was removed by mistake may send a response or counter-notice to the same address with supporting information.
AI Clerics may restrict or terminate users who repeatedly or egregiously infringe intellectual-property rights. No published content is guaranteed to remain available permanently.
14. Suspension, termination, deletion, and export
You may stop using the Service at any time. Where available, you may export account information, delete private content, unpublish creator content, delete message conversations from your own account, and request account deletion.
AI Clerics may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, illegal activity, threats to users or security, infringement, evasion of enforcement, or where required by law. When reasonable, AI Clerics will provide notice or an explanation, but urgent action may be taken immediately.
Before deleting an account, export anything you wish to keep. Deletion cannot erase screenshots, external copies, search caches, copies retained by message recipients, or separate creator-authorized copies. Limited security, legal, dispute, and backup records may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.
Sections that by their nature should continue after termination—including ownership, licenses already granted to existing creator-authorized copies, disclaimers, liability limitations, and enforcement of prior violations—remain effective.
15. Service availability and disclaimers
AI Clerics will use reasonable care in operating the Service, but does not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device. Features and AI systems may occasionally fail, produce unexpected output, or lose synchronization.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and AI output are provided on an “as available” basis without implied guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. AI Clerics does not endorse User Content and is not responsible for another user’s conduct, external copies, or decisions made in reliance on AI output.
Nothing in these Terms limits a mandatory consumer guarantee or other right that applicable law does not allow the parties to waive.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AI Clerics is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, opportunity, reputation, or data, arising from use of or inability to use the Service, AI output, User Content, another user’s conduct, or material copied outside the Service.
AI Clerics remains responsible for liability that applicable law does not permit it to exclude or limit. Any limitation in these Terms applies only to the extent it is lawful and reasonable in the circumstances. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
17. Changes to these Terms
AI Clerics may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, safety rules, legal requirements, or business operations. The effective date will be updated. Where required or reasonably practicable, AI Clerics will provide advance notice of a material change.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service and delete your account before the updated Terms take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
